: Scam artists- beware
This has to be the slimiest outfit I've ever dealt with...sent me a "come on" offer saying that they just had a cancellation on a truck. Having had a few great experiences shipping cars previously, I accepted the offer and gave them my credit card for a deposit. After that it was tough reaching them- they kept claiming they sent me emails but I never saw them. The last minute cancellation ruse became obvious when they took another week to pick up the car. I guess I could deal with that but when the car finally arrived (via a third party shipper) the driver had paperwork saying I owed twice the original quoted amount. Called triStar and "Stan" basically told me to shove it- to read my contract- and that they could charge me whatever they wanted. I did read the contract and it says no such thing. Next "Stan" tryed to strong arm me by saying "pay it or we'll keep the car and rack up storage fees". Lucky for me this was an inexpensive vehicle and I told him I'd pay him what I agreed on my contract and if that wasn't acceptable they could put the car back on the truck. After the driver told me he didn't want the car either- he's the one that really got screwed here...the driver took the cash that I had on my contract and left the car at my house. What ever you do- there are way too many reputable transport companies out there to deal with fly by night shisters like these guys- and I don't use those words often. (more)
