Let me say first, this service was almost perfect. Almost. I recently moved from a one bedroom apartment to another one bedroom apartment about 2 minutes away. I called Bay City and spoke to a very friendly guy named Mike who gave me a quote that was better than the other movers I called. This was short notice, but he setup an appointment for me at 9 AM, two days later. I made a point to ask if there were any travel or other fees. He said no. Great! Smoking a cigarette outside the window, having been sitting at the window since 9 AM, I watched the truck pull up at 9:36. Now I did not care that they were late, I had all day, but this becomes important later. The two guys who showed up, Chris and Neelo, were awesome. They were fast, efficient, did not complain, and were interesting to talk to. They got everything out of the old apartment, and into the new apartment by 1:15 PM. And that included just a short 15 minute break between apartments for them to get coffee. Thats about 3.5 hours. Very quick move! I had no complaints! I loved this entire experience. Now, while they made their last trip upstairs, I went to the ATM and took out enough money for 4 hours, plus $20 a piece for tips, not much but the best I could do with all the expenses related to moving. When I was given the bill, and was walked through it, it showed me 4 hours plus a state mandated trip fee and some materials fees. I was confused and brought up that they did not show up until 9:36 to which he insisted it was 9:15. OK. I had enough money with me, but not enough to tip them with these new fees. So I paid, thanked them and they left. If it were not for the fees on the bill, and the dishonesty about what time they showed up, this would be a 5 STAR review. And, keeping these extras in mind, I would definitely use them again in the future. Just make sure you are aware of the fees before you call.
