As someone who has never shipped a car, the process was daunting due to the amount of information and the number of companies that help with the move. I checked with 3 and eventually settled upon AmeriFreight mostly due to Maleah who made is so easy for a newbie like me. And I am glad I made the decision as Maleah was a great partner throughout the process. Not only did we get the car shipped easily but it was delivered sooner than expected and in perfect condition. I asked for Ally who helped me last year, but unfortunately she has left the business. Graham assisted me instead and my car was picked up within the week. The door to door service is invaluable. The transported sent a small carrier to pick up the car in Mpls which worked really well with the urban streets. Both drivers seemed very comfortable with loading/unloading and finding their way around. No dents or scratches.  (more)

Graham with Amerifreight did a great job of finding a carrier that would transport the car in a short time frame. The pickup and delivery window I provided was limited so it was nice to see that he could accommodate. The carrier service was disappointing. Originally, they scheduled to pick up the car at 6:00 PM on a Thursday. On Thursday night, they reschedule for Friday night. Friday afternoon, I learn that they will arrive at midnight. At midnight, I learn that they will arrive at 2:30 AM. They pick up the car but check a box saying that it was too dark to determine pre existing damages. At the time I do not realize this, mainly because it is 3:00 AM. The car is delivered a day late which is not unreasonable considering the logistics of the move but the frustrating part is that I was not informed until late in the day of the scheduled delivery. The car arrives damaged on the underside of the front bumper which they claim is due to the car having a low profile. Yes, the profile is somewhat low but it is not "lowered" by any aftermarket parts. This could have been avoided by using more pieces of 2 x 4 on the ramps. Once again, on the bill of lading they marked that the car was low profile so obviously this damage was not going to be covered.  (more)

This was the first time I have had a car transported and Jorge Cruz at AmeriFreight made the process painless. He took his time and made sure we understood each step of what was going to happen. I originally contacted AmeriFreight in the morning and by that evening they had lined me up with a carrier. Al Carter at New Day Logistics was the carrier. He called me when he picked up the car, when he was about 4-5 hours away and again when he was 1 hour away. Al was very professional and personable. We had some questions about paperwork that was to be included from the dealer where we bought the car and Al got right on the phone with the dealer to be sure we got our questions answered. I worked with Jorge at AmeriFreight to set up transport of a 1972 MGB from Montana to Texas. This is the first time I have shipped a vehicle and I had a high level of anxiety as many reviews were very poor. I chose AmeriFreight primarily due to the high reviews they receive online. It took a day or two for AmeriFreight to respond to my initial request. It was just a few hours from the first time I visted with Jorge on the phone to them having a truck booked to pick up the vehicle. The driver was on time, had an enclosed trailer (I booked open transport) and was extremely professional. Delivery time was also better than I expected and the vehicle was dropped off without any issues. Jorge followed up with me several times throughout the process. I would highly recommend AmeriFreight and hope you have as good of an experience as I had!  (more)

Be careful with this broker -- very professional and above-average customer service; however, the actual vehicle transport service was a nightmare. Driver lost both keys to the vehicle, yet only agreed to replace one. The insurance provider pushed by AmeriFreight does not accept phone calls, does not respond to messages left on its website, and the password/log-in details provided to file claims are bogus. Requested multiple log-in credentials and all failed. Driver called at MIDNIGHT to coordinate deliver of the vehicle and threatened to return the vehicle to its original destination if we did not do as he ordered. Do not subject yourself to the catastrophe we had to endure . . .  (more)

I preface this by saying that my car was moved safe and sound from coast to coast with no hitches. However this whole experience was somewhat of a confusing whirlwind from the start. AF is basically a "middle man" that connects you to a shipper. On the surface this sounds great but the start is a bit confusing as once you call you get asked 21 questions and before you know are asked for your credit card that locks you into this agreement/brokerage fee. From there you are basically given give or take offers and depending on your time table it might be best not to wait or run the risk of being like me and having a rental for longer than expected. I guess I expected a bit more personal attention all things considered but once they get you a shipper and you agree they basically hand you off and depending on how that shipper is (mine was great) you could have a rocky communication experience. All in all AF worked for me, not at the originally quoted discounted price but rather what everyone else was quoting, and I recommend them but just be warned that "it is what it is".  (more)

The vehicle was picked up 3 days later and delivered 2 days after that. The last thing we expected was to be totally satisfied with the end result of getting a car from Michigan to our daughter in Colorado without worry or hesitation. Josh Contreras at AmeriFreight was the agent that handled our request for shipment. His confidence in that we would be totally pleased with using his company was somewhat convincing. We did research the reviews on the Web as well as went to the BBB in search of any negative feedback. Regardless of our effort, we found nothing of any concern. Almost sounded too good to be true. With a bit a skepticism, we called Josh back on a Friday and made the formal request to ship. He told us that it may take a few weeks to arrange the details with their authorized trucking firms. A few weeks turned into only two days with Josh informing us a carrier was ready to take our vehicle, that Thursday the car was onboard a car hauler on its way to Colorado. From the moment the car hauler was assigned, the driver, Steve, made contact with us and made the arrangements for pick up. He was on time and proved himself to be quite the gentleman. His professional candor was welcomed and by the time of delivery was without question. He kept in regular contact with me as well as my daughter as to the status of delivery, which was not all so necessary, but greatly appreciated. Likewise, Josh made several calls to us to obtain feedback on how the carrier was interfacing with us. The car was delivered without incident, in the exact condition as it left Michigan. The driver shot me a fast text with a pic with the car unloaded in front of my daughters house. Totally satisfied Plus is my rating for AmeriFreight. He made the whole experience very smooth and painless. He explained to me in detail how the process works, what I will be charged and when, and the timeframe for when I could expect the car to be picked up and delivered. This is the first time I have ever transported a vehicle and it was a fantastic experience. Graham was very open and honest and direct. He not only made it easy but worked the deal for me to get me the best price. I also want to point out in calling other top rated companies I was typically quoted much much higher prices when they all use the same source for drivers. When asking why others were higher priced they all gave sales type answers. Graham told me he would work to get me the best deal but also managed expectations of how likely it would be to get a driver in the time frame I wanted at a price I desired so I knew what to expect and to my surprise he was able to get me a deal closer to the low range we discussed. I called a few other Transportation companies prior to using AmeriFreight to get an idea on costs to have a pickup truck transported from Montana to Colorado. Ali at Amerifreight did a great job. She was honest and clear about what to expect. That helped me plan the move properly. I was aware of every step of the process and I never had issue with getting in touch with her. We had some trouble initially finding a carrier but during second week after the order, a good carrier came along and my vehicle reached Seattle from Kansas City sooner than the original estimated arrival time. The driver was cordial and response as well. I know there are a lot of brokers out there and it is difficult to select one. While doing research, I was surprised to see that AmeriFreight received very positive reviews. I even began to question whether they were legitimate reviews. After a few phone calls, I became more comfortable with booking with AmeriFreight, because Ali Miller, the broker I worked with through the whole process, was very informative and forthright with all of my questions, and she gave me the most competitive bid. The most important aspect of all was that Ali was proactive through the whole process. I didn’t have to call her once. She made sure the truck was scheduled, verified the pick-up and delivery occurred as planned, and ensured that I was satisfied with the service I received. Amerifreight is a company who will strive to get 5star ratings. But it deserves none. You will be lucky if your car gets delivered in good condition and in that case they will take all the positive credits. However if the car gets damaged, expect least help from them. I transported my car from Minneapolis to Phoenix through Amerifreight in Feb 2015. I also purchased total protection plan through Josh Contreas of Amerifreight by paying additional premium so that it will cover the damages to my car during transportation. My car was delivered to me with damages on the rear which I even noted in the delivery bill of lading. I got 2 quotes from collision shops and gave it to Josh. However the whole team is least willing to help me get the amount of my claim. They will talk all good before the move but will retract from their words as soon as you pay them the money. STAY AWAY from this company.  (more)

I recently moved from the west coast to the east coast for work. I needed a prompt, reliable automotive shipper to ensure my car was delivered. My experience has been primarily positive with just a few very minor inconveniences. My car was picked up and shipped within a week with little fuss and no damage. I would use this service again should the need ever be required. I felt that I had to drive more of the communication than I otherwise should have considering the cost being paid for broker services. Additionally, payment to the actual shipper is separate and should have been acceptable in cash based upon the emails received. While in theory this may be true, they would much prefer a cashier's check or money order (which of course will cost you another $5 to $10). Lastly, the savings for providing a review for AmeriFreight is most likely eaten up by the up bid shippers know to tack on when they receive a quote. I'm not saying their bargaining in bad faith but clearly the fix is in. Quoted $895 Paid $950  (more)

I was trying to transport my 05 Camry from central Jersey to Texas. I contacted multiple transport companies and finally decided to go with a top rated company which is 5 star rated. I paid the advance of $177 and they committed to pick up the vehicle within 10 days. I contacted them after a week and they were informed that they are still looking for the delivery company. I already moved to Texas and had the car at my friends parking lot and wanted to get it out as soon as possible. I started to contact the company every other day but there was no change in the status. After 2 weeks, I requested them to cancel the order and reached out to AmeriFreight. They gave me a quote that was almost $125 less than the earlier company. Within 4 days they were able to finalize and pickup the car as agreed. I was impressed with the quick service. The car was picked on 9/16 and the expected date was 9/20. The car was delivered a day earlier 9/19 which worked out well for us. He delivery guy worked with us and was able to get the car as close as possible to our new home. The car was in the same condition as I left back in New Jersey. Overall, I am very impressed with the service and would recommend this company.  (more)

It took 18 days to have my car picked up, and I had to add $300 to the total cost. Not very happy about it. The agent should have provided me with a more accurate quote. The original quote apparently did not work out very well, so that no driver would like to pick up my car. After waiting for 2 weeks, I had to increase $300 to attract a driver to pick up the car.  (more)

Amerifreight successfully found a carrier on relatively short notice. The carrier was respectful and on time, and I think the price was reasonable ($950 from Mass to Florida) for the good carrier service and the timeframe. I appreciated not having to pay a deposit until they secured a carrier. Customer service was initially very good. Jorge was knowledgeable about the process, let me know that the probability of securing a carrier in my timeframe at the estimated price (which ended up going up $55, but not a big deal) wasn't a sure thing, etc. However, once I confirmed my order, I was unable to reach him for days, which was problematic because I needed my car to ship the following week. I did not hear from him for approximately 4-5 days, despite repeated emails and phone calls, and I had to call other people at Amerifreight to help. I was very worried that my car would not be able to ship. I think I heard back from him the following week when he said he found a carrier, but even after that I was unable to reach him by phone or email most of the day. Ultimately, Amerfreight got the job done at a price I could afford and in the timeframe I requested. If it weren't for those several days when I was completely in the dark as to what was happening, this would be a five-star review.  (more)

Amerifreight was great, the carrier they provided was just okay ,the car arrived with no damage and Amerifreight was great explaining everything, but the carrier wasn't so good with communication and the car arrived way dirtier then expected, driver got lost and just parked in th emiddle of a huge University, my daughter had to go find him, but would I use them again yes!  (more)

Amerifreight was did a great job in many ways. They were polite, helpful, prompt, and courteous. As far as customer service, I would use them again without hesitation. My only issue, and I can't blame Amerifreight completely, was that I was quoted a price which was A LOT lower than everyone else and this was a deciding factor for me. The problem is that no carriers were interested in picking up my vehicle at this price. It took a week of gradually increasing the price before someone agreed to take the vehicle. So in the end, I wasted a week and I ended paying the same price as all the other companies that quoted for me. Live and learn I guess! Like I said, not entirely their fault but then again I think they should have known that no one would pick up the vehicle at this price. Overall though, I was very satisfied despite this.  (more)

Let me start by saying this is the second experience with AmeriFreight. The first being two years ago. I decided to move to New Mexico from Pennsylvania, with such a big move I began to plan a month ahead. All my moving plans where complete. However, I could not remember the name of the auto transport company (AmeriFreight) so decided to go with another...What a NIGHTMARE! it was so bad that the day I left my car was still stranded. My husband decided to search and search until he found it....Amerifreight! they immediately showed compassion and got to working, they couldn't make any promises as it was a last minute deal. Nevertheless, the came through once again. They immediately found a driver, whom by the way was the same driver as the first transport (Great Guy), and got my car shipped. From experience, twice, if you need your car transported please use AmeriFreight and save yourself the headache. As for price, for me, because of their service, honesty, integrity, and the driver it is all worth it!  (more)

Before choosing to do business with AmeriFreight, I conducted a research on the Internet and asked for quotations from more than 10 companies. AmeriFreight replied to my request right away and provided a very competitive quote. I was given Mr. Graham Taylor as my agent and before I had a chance to contact him, he called me. He explained the process thoroughly and after I completed the required documents, which only took a few minutes to fill out, he moved swiftly to find a carrier. I was trying ship my vehicle from Alabama to North Carolina and knowing that the pick-up point is not along the regular routes I expected it would take a couple of days before a carrier is identified. However, it only took Graham one day to find a carrier and few days later my car was delivered in good condition. The entire process from the time I first spoke with Graham to the day the car was delivered took less than a week. I had ordered for the car to get shipped on 7/27 from NY to CA with the economy saver deal, which meant Amerifrieght would not confirm the final amount until a carrier would offer his price for the transport and I would agree or not. The initial quote for the car was $1195 (or rather $1175 with the student discount). My earliest available date was 8/3. On 8/7, my rep had contacted me with two offers, both offers for $1445 (or $1420 with the student discount). It was way more than what I expected. My rep was able to reduce the price by to $1345 (or $1325 with the student discount) so I decided to go with the earliest available carrier, E  (more)

This company is seriously the best. Upon first calling for prices, Bob gave me the "Car Shipping 101." He laid every option out on the table and was very patient and invested in my understanding of the process. Going through a broker can be a little intimidating and frightening, but Bob proved to be an excellent person to do business with. Since I did not live in a big city, I chose to store my car in the Peachtree City, Georgia, terminal. The staff there was extremely friendly, organized, prepared, and most importantly extremely thorough with the initial inspection of my vehicle. Jorge was extremely polite and took every measure to make sure I was 'covered' in case something happened to my car such as taking photos, and documenting all scratches and dents, etc. I requested to have my car delivered after I arrived in California. I moved my car from MI to CA. It took around two weeks to find an available truck driver and deliver my car. The price was a little bit more expensive than the initial quoted value, but Bob compensated by reducing the deposit. It was especially convenient to put my car in Anaheim storage since I could just pick up my car at any time when I arrived there. In general, it was a great service.  (more)

Bob at AmeriFreight was very helpful in getting this difficult to place haul (mini-van) with a carrier. His responsiveness was first rate and I had no problem getting answers to all my questions. He was especially easy to deal with when after I reviewed the first company he set me up with I called and asked him to locate another. The first had all zero ratings and a list of horror stories. Bob did say he was using inside industrial ratings to choose from that the customer does not see. I'm pretty sure this rating system could let the world's worst company seem to be respectable. Bob located another carrier for me operating out of Long Beach, CA - Q Express, Inc. Even though their truck broke down and showed up 3 days late, the owner was responsive enough with call-backs that I felt we'd reach resolution as he promised. They fixed the truck in New Mexico and had it in Boston 3 days later. For those needing a car hauled in/out of SoCal to the East Coast, I'd use AmeriFreight and Q-Express with confidence.  (more)

This was actually the second time I've used AmeriFreight, and the second time I was assisted by Mr. Graham Turner. Not only did AmeriFreight still offer the best economic value, but I'm pleased to say that their customer service had not dropped off in the three years time between my automotive transportation needs! First off, Mr. Turner was a true professional on the phone. He is genuine, he asks the right questions to understand your logistical challenges, and he explains the backend process that he enables to match you to a transportation provider. Second, Mr. Turner does his following up with you...don't expect to hang up the phone and wait by yourself for the transporter to show up! Finally, Mr. Turner asked for personal confirmation that the vehicle you care about is underway...which means that he cares about getting that vehicle underway, too! All in all, his zeal in ensuring that your car gets from your origin to your destination in perfect condition makes Mr. Turner a military mover's advocate as we try to navigate the tricky task of changing duty stations. Providing a military discount to service members is a wonderful gesture on top of such great stewardship! Great job! Lastly, the transportation company Steve Gall Trucking was outstanding! Steve was a true gentleman, kind and respectful. You could tell he loved his job, which really matters when you entrust someone with your car. Gall Trucking picked up on time, and delivered on time, as promised! I truly hope to use Gall Trucking again. My car arrived undamaged, fully operable, with no issues. We had a car and a pickup shipped from North Carolina to California and chose to pay extra to have the vehicles picked up in a three to five day window. The contract didn't say three to five day days, so this created a bit of stress. I have had cars shipped twice before. If this is your first time shipping a vehicle, you should be aware that the process is not well designed for date(s) certain pickup or delivery windows. Expect a lot uncertainty with regard to when your vehicle will be picked up or delivered, even if you pay extra. Review: I made the move from NYC to LA for work and was very nervous about getting my car shipped cross country since I had previously heard so many horror stories. I did a lot of research to try and find a good deal and a company I could trust. I called the top 3 rated companies and on a Friday evening got connected to Bob at AmeriFreight. He was so nice, and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease about the entire process. He explained what would happen from start to finish and was very honest with me about timing and what I should expect. The driver who picked up my car was very friendly and delivered my car 4 days ahead schedule! My car made it from NYC to LA without issue and the driver even called me the day before he arrived and gave me a 2 hour window that he would arrive and made it right on time. I didn't hesitate to choose AmeriFreight. When I called them I was initially just looking to get a general quote and additional info like I had gotten from the other shipping companies. But Bob made the whole experience so easy and worry free that I immediately agreed to ship my car through them. With two kids and a pet, my wife and I did not want to separately drive two cars 2,200 miles across country for our recent military change of assignment from Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, to Hill AFB, UT. To all those that are researching, inquiring, or just beginning their process in trying to find an honest, professional, and reputable transport company I could not be more pleased than to write this review for you. I spent 2-3 months researching trying to find a transport company that I could feel comfortable with. I spent countless hours searching on Google for Auto Transport Reviews of any transporter. Any company that I could find I would search for them on the Better Business Bureau, read a ridiculous amount of other reviews, map the companies address that was listed with Google maps, etc. Needless to say I was very skeptical and concerned. I have been burnt in the past from other review sites and companies and I wasn't about to be burnt again. I filled out numerous Instant Quote surveys online and must of received over a hundred different transport company quotes. I narrowed my decision first by their BBB ratings. I made a top 50 of those companies. After I compiled a list of prospective Transport Companies I separated them by quote amount. Anything that fell below $800 I felt that it would be too good to be true. After eliminating those companies I was left with 16 companies remaining. Once I had the remaining 16 companies I began looking further into their professional websites looking for anything that would stand out from the others. Amerifreight did that in about every way possible. They provided a wealth of knowledge and resources for the consumer to validate, research, and answer any possible questions one might have in regards to Auto Transport. After making my decision to contact Amerifreight I sent them a quote request through their website. It was on Saturday. I was a little bit concerned that I did not receive an email immediately following my request. It wasn't until a little bit later that I realized that I wasn't going to receive some run of the mill generic quote from some auto generated email system. This was comforting in the fact that I felt they want all their prospective customers to feel like a customer and they were valued through REAL customer service. Monday morning I had received an email from Bob. Bob welcomed himself professionally with a very detailed break down of their quote to transport my vehicle from Washington State to North Carolina. After reviewing their quote I called the number in his signature block expecting to be sent directly to an Interactive Voice System...Nope...instead I was directly connected to Bob. Bob answered every question that I could possibly ask that could ease my concerns. Bob was very knowledgeable, was not pushy on other services, was very detailed in the entire process that would take place if I chose Amerifrieght, and was very personable. After agreeing to contract Amerifreight, Bob had explained that it could take a awhile before my order was picked up by a driver due to the nature of my specific order. I was expecting anywhere from a week to a week and a half before I heard back, nope. Two days later Bob called me and told me that he a driver for me. We discussed the details in its entirety and proceeded with the order. Every bit of information regarding our conversations, order details, etc were quickly sent to me in my email so that I could keep a detailed record as well. I felt like Bob truly cared about the customers that he had and wanted them to feel as comfortable and confident with Amerifrieght as much as possible. Auto transport can be a very stressful process if not handled properly. i had no stress or worries at this time. After the order was completed with Amerifrieght, the drivers information was sent to me so that I knew who was handling my precious cargo. Within an hour the driver had made contact with me to establish an open line of communication. The driver came on time for pick up. The driver was also very professional and very accommodating to ensure that pick up of the vehicle would be best fit my schedule considering I was out of state and another individual was handling the pickup for me. Bob maintained constant contact to ensure that the driver arrangements was going as planned and answer any last minute questions I may have. Once the driver had loaded my car he called to tell me that the delivery could take 7-10 days due to it being cross country and their were other deliveries to be made as well. I was truly surprised when I received a phone call from the driver 3 days later telling me that he would be in my area the next day!!! All in all...there are not enough words to describe the overall satisfaction I had with Amerifrieght and the driver. From start to finish Amerifrieght, Bob, and the driver made every attempt to ensure my customer satisfaction. If for any reason I need to transport another vehicle at any time, Amerifrieght will be my one and only choice. I hope that all that reads this review can find some sort of confirmation or at least help establish a decision. I searched a lot of companies before deciding on AmeriFreight. It was well worth it. Bob was my contact there and he immediately made me less stressed about this major piece of moving across the country. He explained and educated me on how the process works, and made sure that he answered all the questions I had. He was so polite and took care of everything I needed. He gave me choices to decide on, and gave me the plus and minus of each choice. When the time came for my car to be picked for a driver, he immediately contacted me by both phone and email. I really appreciated that every time he needed to get in contact with me, he emailed and called. He took care of special requests I had in determining when the car was going to be picked up. He checked in and made sure I had the phone numbers for the dispatch and driver, and that they had my contact information, so that I could track my vehicle as it was shipped. As someone who deals with complaints and customer service as a part of my job, I pay very close attention to the kind of service I get, the knowledge of the person selling me something, and the overall experience. I appreciate the importance that good customer service has on the impact of a purchase. There are many companies to choose from, and I did a lot of searching and researching before choosing AmeriFreight, They do stand behind what they do, and their treatment of customers is top notch. First of all I would like to say thanks to AmeriFreight and PNG Auto Transport company for delivered my car safely without any damage. I was quoted in several companies in online and Amerifreight provided me the best price to ship my car.(This is the best of all 895$, rest of all are morethan 1100$. Immediately i contacted Bob Turner and discussed about my quote and he didn't increase a penny on a quoted amount and he find a carrier for me as promised in 5-7 business days. Truck driver asked for little higher amount than quoted i.e. 950$. I was accepted and i realize that it's worth paying that extra money because he delivered my car in exactly 2 days after the pickup. I didn’t know what to expect; fortunately the agent explained the options and steps involved. Communication was good. He called me back in a timely fashion when I called. First off let me say that AmeriFreight, and Bob in particular, were not only knowledgeable and worked hard to transport my car but never did they push any sales pitch or try to up-sell any products. I purchased my classic out of state and needed it to be transported, hoping to save a few dollars I went with the economy pricing. While this may work if you have the time, let me tell you, save yourself the hassle, the time and a friend willing to garage your car - go with the preferred or express rates and you will have your car picked up and delivered in no time. While I expected it to take a while to be delivered, I was pleasantly shocked when the carrier called two days early to inform me that they would be delivering the following morning. Everything was as it should be, dirty and grimy (that's ok, it's what you expect on open transport that somehow flew across the country) but I was in for a shock. My car had a window that would not roll up when I bought it. My friend tried to cover up the window for transport but the transport company went above and beyond - they got the window all the way up, secured it and insured that the inside would be properly protected for the long haul. I was concerned about transporting my car as I was flying the next morning to California. Amerifreight found out a transporter urgently and everything was done within 2 hours. I called Amerifreight due to the good reviews online and did not hold back in calling them. Bob was very detailed when he explained the quote. I was very stressed out at first when I placed my order almost a month before my first available pick-up (yeah because it was a long move!) and had not received a call a week before the said date, but Bob really took care of everything even up to the last minute and was great! The price was reasonable but my car was picked up a day late but was delivered on time. Upon arrival no damages were noted. Graham was a big help lining up my auto transport as I had shifting dates and addresses associated with my relocation. The carrier came to apartment complex prepared ahead of time, knowing that the truck would not fit on property access ways, so with only 5 minutes of my time had picked up my car on a small transport ZERO hassles. Upon delivery, the driver called 4 hours out and then again 1 hour out so i had time needed. Again - truck unloaded across the street and THEN the driver called - all total another 5 minutes. Graham promptly followed up to confirm that everything was fine. Other than 3000 miles worth of winter road grime the car was exactly as it had been on pickup.
