I am in the business if selling and shipping car all over the world, No communication, No return calls after leaving 10 V-mails.
If I could give them less then 1 star I would, absolutely the worst shipping company I have ever dealt with!!!!! (more)

I was I could give them negative stars. Let me list the reasons.
* All of the change in my glove compartment was missing upon arrival
*My key chain was missing, not sure why - they did reimburse my $10 for the key chain, but that is not the point. Why did someone take it?
* I paid extra to have my car placed on the top carrier, yet when it arrived it was on the bottom. Then they told me that was only the last leg of the journey - Yeah, right!
* My personal papers were rummaged through after I locked the glove compartment
* The car arrived filthy after I was told it would be washed right before arrival

Pretty good overall. There were a couple of problems. When I received the estimate, it was based on a terminal near me for pick up. A couple months later when I was ready for pick up, they reported that terminal closed and the nearest one to me was now several hundred miles away instead of 25 increasing the cost by $600-$700. The original pick up was delayed by one day as the towing company had mechanical issues; however, I was contacted in time, rescheduled, and they were there on time for the rescheduled pick up with no issues. : DAS Deliver
I used Dependable Auto Shippers to ship a vehicle from Georgia to San Francisco. I was skeptical about using a service base on all the horror stories I was reading on the Web. I received information about Dependable Auto Shippers from a friend who owns a moving company, and he highly recommended this company. My first call to them was outstanding; all the things the representative told me that would happen happened (i.e., date the vehicle would be picked up, the day the vehicle would arrive, the amount for the service). I was impressed!!! And, I received e-mail status updates as the vehicle shipped. The vehicle arrived before the expected due date and it was delivered to the specified location. Based on my experience, I highly recommend using this company. (more)

: My DAS Review
The service was recommended by my mover to ship our G35 Coupe from Sacramento to Austin. Although we had to drive the car 100 miles to get to the pick up point, the check in was effortless and expedient. The pick up time and location were spot on and went off without a hitch. The only reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5 is, when we picked up our vehicle, and I am anal about my cars and motorcycles, was that our car was apparently on the bottom of the trailer without any protection from above vehicles. There was gravel, or small rocks, located around the spoiler on the deck lid and in the air intake/windshield wipers bay below the windshield. No damage was noticed, but thought a little better care or protection could have been taken (more)

My vehicle is a very clean classic truck and WAS VERY CLEAN AND UNDAMAGED UNTIL THEY GOT IT... They wrecked the front end along with knocking some lenses off of side marker lamps. They contacted me before they even delivered it and told me that they had damaged my vehicle but told me not to worry that they would pay for repairs. What a joke. I got an estimate and did everything they asked. They told me I would have a check in 21 working days that was two months ago. I have tried to contact these people and have yet to be contacted to discuss this matter. If you value your vehicle do not use this Company. (more)

Car sat at the pickup point for several days. After being told it was on the road, they couldn't tell me where it was. Then they said the truck had mechanical problems. Will and never have used them again. I also passed this information on to my car club mermbers. (more)

Review: Original pick up date 5-28-2014
After one month my car still sits outside in some dirt field in Georgia. I bet Cletus and Bubba are having a good time at the local dirt tracks with my car as it is very powerful! No commitment to anything from these people. I offered to change it to open shipping NO DIFFERENCE. I got the bill from AMX and I am disputing it at this time and may have to file a stolen car report soon. NEVER use them ESPECIALLY if you are shipping an expensive rare car. PAY MORE MONEY to a reputable delivery vendor. My friend Wayne at F40 motorsports recommends Intercity or VIP trucking and he ships cars ALL the time (why didn't I use that info!!!) I think my car MAY eventually arrive but most likely will be a total write off and my Insurance company will pay for it to be scrapped, which is sad as there are only 3 documented examples of this model car built with the option package. I bet Bubba, Darrel and Cletus are having a good time dirt tracking it. I am sure my Insurance company will make out well in parting it out, and I insured it for full value before it was touched but these people. I have called repeatedly and gotten shunted off to the side and hung up on (maybe I was a bit rude but then I think I have the right). I am sure its not the person on the phones fault, it comes from way up the food chain and I hope they pay her really well to field all the complaints that should be going higher up.
I always wondered why so many cars get stolen in this country by window smashers when all you need to do is set up a vehicle shipping company and steal them legally I guess I should just ship them the title and be out 23K.
GOOD LUCK if you chose DAS as a shipper....you will need all the luck you can get. Of course I expect retaliation from posting this but then I am already out the $23k so what else do I have to worry about....maybe they will send someone over to my house to pick up my truck and ship it somewhere to someone to further amuse themselves, I guess I should just put the title to it in the glove box to save them some time.
I will update this as the months go by to let all 4 of you who read it know how it goes, I am sure you are dying to find out! LOL
well its now JULY 8th.....no car no info...called the local "terminal" no they have never heard of it. Went on line to check status- -car is in Livermore, well at least its the same STATE i live in now.....checked back a couple of days later....the web site said my car was at the destination terminal....I call them...no we have never heard of it...call DAS "well it says it was delivered"...uh NO.....called the destination terminal "no we don't have it".....check back with DAS now its "in transit".... again maybe the car was in Livermore Mexico????
NEEDLESS TO SAY do not use these CLOWNS I am sure the president of the company wears a red rubber nose and a fake glasses mustache set while he is at work (at the golf course anyway which has got to be this companies idea of work) I am contacting the local police to find out how to file a stolen car report as this is my last option. The very fabric of integrity is being shredded by business like this who DO NOT live up to any agreements they made. No wonder more and more people are arming themselves for the coming meltdown, I was taught to live up to any agreement I had made regardless of the consequences to me as I MADE THE AGREEMENT....what a quaint old fashioned concept! This is the second time I have used DAS. The first time the vehicle was delivered early, and this time it was a little late (7 days). Not surprising given the holidays and bad weather. The car was not damaged, and dirty as you would expect a car to be after traveling across the country. I left a message for Bernie once and he never called back. I emailed customer support once and received a response after a few days. The lady that called to tell me the vehicle was delivered, and the woman at the terminal were very nice. I will use them again. (more)

: Great Expectations
I have never used a transport service and was surprised by the number of them, but a friend referred me to DAS. I had MANY questions and Bernie was able to answer all of them. I transported my sister's car from Seattle, Washington to Louisville, KY just before everyone felt that arctic blast of cold weather. I was given a quote of $701 for a pick up date of 12/18/13 to an ETA date of 1/4/14. I chose the 'terminal to terminal' option because my sister was willing to drop off the car at the terminal and I would pick it up at the terminal nearest me. I received all paperwork through email. I received updates through email when the terminal in WA. received the car, when the car was assigned a carrier, when it left and when it arrived in KY. My car arrived on it's estimated arrival date. I was able to contact the terminal to arrange a time for pick up. The terminal knew when I was coming to pick up the car and had it ready for me to do a walkthrough with the owner before I left with it. The price of the transfer was not the highest, nor the lowest. I researched this company and felt it met my requirements. I would definitely use this company again and would highly recommend their service.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Spare yourself an extremely frustrating, costly experience.
This was single handedly the WORST company I have ever worked with. Aside from my car being delivered OVER A MONTH past the scheduled arrival date, the customer service was horrendous. No one at DAS cared to email me or call me back on a timely basis (or at all...) and the "manager" was always busy. I spent more money on using a Zipcar during the month plus they spent to ship my car, than I paid DAS originally.
The most unprofessional, undependable company I have EVER come across. (more)

I used DAS in September to move my MB SLK230 from NJ to Dallas. This car is my baby so I was very nervous about shipping it, but figured it was a better option to driving it the 1700 miles. They told it would take about 14 days which I thought was a bit long, but because it's my secondary car, I was OK with that. I'm happy to say I received her in 11 days without a mark. It looked like they even washed it before delivery. Very pleased. (more)

: Poor Service and Irresponsible Treatment
We contracted with Dependable Auto Shippers to move two of our vehicles from Virginia to Colorado.
They moved our 2001 BMW Z3 for which we paid extra to have the vehicle shipped in a closed container and top loaded to minimize damage. When the vehicle was finally delivered to our new home, not only was the vehicle NOT top loaded, but it was wrapped in plastic. We soon learned why... the vehicle had been placed under another vehicle which leaked oil on the convertible roof. Not only did Dependable (who is not so dependable) not take responsibility for not top loading the vehicle, they refuse to refund the approximate $150 extra for the top loading, they refused to make any restitution for the repair of the convertible top. I now have a vehicle whose value is seriously reduced due to their negligence and mishandling.
For the 2005 Honda CRV, they took over 1 month and numerous telephone calls to find out where our vehicle was and get a date for delivery. No one could ever tell us where the vehicle was let alone when the vehicle would be delivered. The customer service representative would blame the delay on the dispatchers but could not get any specifics on the vehicle whereabouts. We could not get any information on our vehicle until we demanded to speak with a supervisor. Finally after 1 month, the vehicle was delivered.
I DO NOT recommend Dependable Auto Shippers for any vehicle move whether down the street or across the country.

: Incompetent, with no regard for customers
We went with DAS on a referral from our moving consultant despite reading several terrible reviews and noting the company's F rating on the BBB website. We regret this decision.
Everything was fine, including our initial conversations with Brad Simon, right until they charged our credit card (which happens before they do anything). We have 2 cars and staggered their shipment so as to avoid have a long rental car expense at our destination. DAS provided us a due date for the first car of June 25th, our arrival and picked up our car June 10 (they charged our credit card on June 8). 3 days before our move we called to make sure our car would be waiting for us, only to find out it hadn't even left the departure terminal. This was 2 weeks after pick up and 16 days after DAS was paid. We called Brad Simon, our sales rep, but he essentially wanted nothing to do with us at this point and sent us off to customer service. You see, your sales rep is nothing more than an order taker, and likely paid on commission, so that once your credit card is charged, they get paid and you are no longer of interest to them.
So Karen steps in, and she is polite and courteous, but has no control over when your car will be shipped. Our car finally left for California on June 28th, 3 weeks after DAS got paid, and 18 days after picking up our car, which essentially sat in a parking lot for all this time. We finally received it one full week later. DAS excuse was it was a busy time of year. Well, aren't they in the logistics business? Isn't it essentially the crux of their job to anticipate this? They are the ones that set the due date knowing it was a busy time of year, so why should I pay for that failure? (by the way, due dates are essentially meaningless, per customer service!). I paid them because they are supposed to be the experts in anticipating delays and forecasting the time it takes for this transit, so blaming a delay on seasonal business just makes them sound stupid. DAS is incompetent, or simply doesn't care about its customers. As a result, we incurred nearly $1,000 in incremental rental car charges (so essentially the transport cost us $2,400, not the $1,400 seen above). DAS offered $150 in goodwill, but that is clearly not going to cut it. We paid DAS to do a job in a certain amount of time, and they were unable to fulfill their obligation. That failure resulted in significant costs to me, which they are unwilling to compensate me for in any meaningful fashion. As the process has gone on, it has become harder and harder to get anyone in customer service, and as I mentioned, your sales rep is completely worthless once you pay. Karen no longer takes our calls and refuses to call us back.
We are currently awaiting our second car, which was picked up 16 days ago, (and the move paid for nearly 3 weeks ago). We have no idea where it is, as the website simply says "in transit". I may be writing a second review for this car if it doesn't arrive soon.
In the interest of fairness, their was one bright spot, and that was Shannon Klempa, a dispatcher in New Jersey who actually seems to care and was extremely helpful. But as an organization, DAS does not care and makes you sign terms and conditions so skewed in their favor it's not even funny. Great business model, get paid up front and have no responsibility for delivering in a timely fashion thereafter. Sweet for DAS, bad for customers. (more)

: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
My broker turned me over to DAS after being unable to find my a carrier to leave out of SC. I agreed to using DAS knowing that they do hold vehicles for a bit until they have enough vehicles to put on a truck. I was given an ETA of 14-17 days (which is already longer than what I would expect, but I accepted with the lack of other options). I dropped off my car at their terminal and flew across the country. After about a 7 days, I called to check, and my car was still sitting at the terminal. At about day 13, I was finally told that my car was starting on its way. 2 days later, I called to check on the status again, and was told that my car never left and that it was still sitting in SC in its original terminal. I was baffled and outraged, especially by the poor communication. Why was I told that my car had left when in fact it had not? Also, we had reached the 17-day mark, and my car was STILL in its original destination. At this point, I called my broker, who was equally astounded, and he assured me that he would handle all communications with DAS from then on. After a few more days, car then proceeded to sit in ATL (only 5 hrs from SC) for 4 days unmoved before then starting for CA. Long story short, it took literally 28 days for me to get my vehicle. In that time, I could have driven across the country myself 4 times. The day the car arrived, no one called me. I had to call DAS to see if it was in CA, and then call the terminal location myself to confirm and then go pick it up. At the end, DAS did give me a discount (which I had to fight for) off the shipping price (price above is before discount). However, rest assured that whatever discount they gave me DID NOT COME CLOSE in any way to cover the extra cost of having to rent a car for so many days nor the opportunity cost I had to forgo in things not accomplished during that time period (try getting settled into a new home without a car after moving across the country). : Very Poor Service
After contracting with DAS to ship my daughters car from Raleigh, NC to Las Vegas, NV, I have to say this was the worst experience of the whole move. The car was picked up on 5/16, the car was to be delivered on or before 6/1, as per Janis. We had to contact them since their website doesn't tell you where the car is, and after a LONG and exhausting conversation with "customer service", I was informed that the car hadn't even been picked up in Georgia until the 5/30!!! and wasn't to be delivered to California until 6/5!! Which in turn they couldn't give me a date for delivery in Nevada. Consequently, we had to pay for a rental car since we had no other transportation!! The car arrived in Nevada on 6/8... my daughter was called with a time and place of pickup. When she arrived after turning in the rental car and having to take a cab to the pick up place, she was told they wouldn't release the car because it wasn't during the times she was given!!! Long story short...she demanded the car, the manager was called and the car was finally released after ALOT of discussion and tears!!! I would NEVER use this company again. EVER!! We will be driving back from Nevada to North Carolina instead! Oh and if they pay for our rental car, I'll be very surprised!! (more)

I called them today (Jun 4) and they said it would be picked up from the originating location (Phoenix) today, had to travel through Atlanta first and then would make it up to Nashville. But they couldn't even give me an estimated date on when that might be. At best, the car will take 3.5 weeks for delivery when it was supposed to have taken 10 days. My sales rep, Bobby Jackson, apparently said whatever he needed to in order to get the order but then couldn't back anything up with action. Don't ever use this company. I've shipped several cars before and this is by far the worst experience I have ever gone through. Late, Terrible Customer Service and No Communication (more)

My orderd was cancled mid order! My truck was picked up from the owner and no one from DAS has touched it again for 14 days! I paid extra for the fast delivery!!! "10 days or less" he said! Made sure not to get scammed on eBay just to get hosed by the shipping company. DAS sucks!

: Worst Service
I had used Dependable Auto Shippers to ship my car from Colorado to Washington. My order number is 45262664.
I received my car after 12 days, after I got my car I saw that they broke the muffler of the car and it was actually hanging down when the driver unloaded it from the truck. The muffler was completely damaged and I was not able to take my car out. The next day I called them up and they asked me to get an estimate and file a claim, so I got an estimate and filed a claim. After 5 days of submitting the claim, I called them again and they said that the claim was denied, the lady just said we are sorry, we are not responsible for it. I am very disappointed with the service. The muffler was damaged to such an extent that I was not able to get welding done on it, hence I had to get it replaced and the total cost was $1600. So I paid $500 for shipping it and additional $1600 for getting my car repaired.
DAS is EXTREMELY irresponsible in handling cars. If you love your car PLEASE DONT USE THEIR SERVICE. Their website is http://www.dasautoshippers.com/

: UN-DEPENDABLE
On 2-28-13 I contracted with Dependable Auto Shippers to ship my classic vehicle. They billed my credit card $296.00 immediately. My move was only 397 miles. I chose them because I knew they had their own transport trucks. They said I would be notified when my vehicle would picked up. I called about every other day to check on the status of my move. They told me they had 10 days to get my vehicle moved and it would only take one day to get to me. Then on about 2-10-13 the sales girl called and said they could not move my vehicle for the amount they had charged me. I spoke with a manager and told him I paid them to move my vehicle and they should have one of their transport trucks pick up my vehicle and bring it to me. He told if I wanted them to use one of their trucks to move my vehicle I would have to pay them $800.00. The manager told me they were canceling my transport order and would refund my money in a few days. I told them I did not want a refund, that what I wanted was for them to move my vehicle as contracted. The next thing that happened was I got an email saying they had canceled my order.
It appears that nobody at Dependable Auto Shippers understands the meaning of honesty, in that when you take and hold a customers money for more than 12 days you should make good on what you contracted and promised to do. Dependable Auto Shippers is very unreliable and dishonest.

: DON'T EVER USE DAS!!!
After using DAS several times with satisfactory results in the past, I contracted with them to ship my pristine, low mileage 2000 Porsche Boxster S from LA to NY in September of 2012. When I dropped the car off at their Gardena, CA depot, it had virtually new tires on it. When the car was delivered several days later however the rear tires were COMPLETELY BALD and the rear underside of the car was caked with rubber dust. Two tire shops said it was obvious someone had done burnouts in the car and in the process shredded 20,000 plus miles of tread off the tires! My mechanic also said the clutch would have taken a severe beating in the process.
Dumbfounded, I called for an explanation but was merely told to file a claim (which I did and which they subsequently denied). I never received a call back from the customer service manager nor any explanation or official apology. Infuriated, I began perusing reviews on Epinions, Yelp, and the Better Business Bureau and quickly realized what a shady, unethical firm this is (apparently they had their BBB charter revoked in 2005). Complaints range from trashed cars to theft to sexual harassment of customers! The sheer number and variety of complaints makes it sound as if DAS is some sort of mafia operation. Unbelievable.
They ARE the cheapest alternative around but NEVER EVER use them to ship a nice car. Based on hundreds of negative reviews out there, it's clear that DAS employees will happily abuse customer cars with complete impunity. (more)

: Bad service, not dependable, dishonest
Used DAS for last 7 cross country moves. This last time was the worst experience ever! My car has been sitting in a lot at the origin terminal in Massachusetts for over 2 weeks. I even paid more than average and still did not receive my car. My family and i will be moving to northern California next week and DAS cannot guarantee my car will be delivered before my scheduled move. They are the worst company ever. Maybe they changed management, but I have never had the experience of my car sitting at the origin terminal for more than two weeks. I get excuses about it being peak season, weather,...you name it, i have been given that excuse. The customer service people are NOT helpful. They saynthey will call you bavk but do not. They are at the mercy of the dispatch office who can only be contacted by email. Worthless communication system, and so not real time. Sad given the advanced communication technology we have today. This company should be ashamed of how they conduct business. They are completely NOT service oriented. They treat customers like they are a burden. Shame on DAS for taking your money up front and running with it....leaving your car to rot in some random lot. DO NOT use DAS to ship your car, you will surely be disappointed and be left flying out to drive your car out yourself. (more)

: CUSTOMER BEWARE
This company will NEVER entertain your claim if you miss to document a damage at the destination/pick-up, NO matter what the circumstance or best efforts you do to notify them and their third party shippers (notified both DAS and their contracted third party shipper) in less than an hour after the delivery of the vehicle). ONCE YOU SIGN, YOUR CLAIM IS GONE!!!!
My origin Bill of Lading did not show the specific damage to the car, so damage at the destination sort of just "occurred". Sign the document, and this company would care less how the damage got there. They will, of course, tell you that their "internal investigations" did not indicate any damage. Since they did not do it, then the owner, your neighbor, a bystander, or who knows who.......must have done it.
So, UNLESS you have a perfect inspection at the destination or "LIKE to blame yourself or others for DAMAGE" to your own vehicle, STAY AWAY from this company. (more)

: Severe damage without sufficient payment to have the car repaired
My car was obviously involved in an accident during the transportation from WA to MD. The front bumper was severely damaged. Other minor damage can also be found on the passenger side front bumper and fender. The first body shop provided an estimate to have the new damage repaired by replacing the front bumper cover. While DAS applied 50% off for betterment of so called “pre-existing damage” and subtracted $250 for deductible, so finally they only want to pay ~$107 for the total damage. Then I was suggested by the DAS agent to have an estimation to have the “new damage” repaired only, without touching anywhere else or replacing any part. So I spent quite some time to find a body shop qualified for this kind of repair. While this time the price turned out to be ~$960 because of the extensive labor fee. After receiving the new estimate, the DAS agent provided another offer by waiving the $250 deductible bringing the total offer to $357.80. I didn’t agree with this offer because it is obviously not enough to have the car repaired. Then the DAS agent sent me an email and told me that their offer of $107.80 is full and final and she would like to close the file like this. What a joke! They don’t care about the feeling of their customer at all! They don’t even follow their own rules! (more)

: Very Good
I purchased a new Corvette from Atlantic City and had it shipped to California. I made a mistake by initially signing up with another no-name shipping company that offered to ship the car for less money. Once I found out that they operate under 4 different names, and their business address is a residential house in Florida, I cancelled and signed up with DAS as this company does not operate from a basement.
I was very concerned having a brand new, expensive car shipped by any company I have not heard from before. It is my baby that I bought with money saved over many years, and all the horror stories I've heard from other reviewers made for several restless nights. As I went through hell for many days, I thought to share my story with you all, and calm your fears.
I found out that DAS ships thousands of cars across country every month. The car sat in Linden, NJ for a week before it was shipped out. I was able to track the car’s every movement as it made itself across the country and it arrived ahead of schedule in perfect condition. Thank you DAS! (more)

: Great Experience!
Shipped our car from Boise, ID to Virginia. We had no problems. I could see the car electronically as it traveled the US. They were friendly on the phone and timely. I had no dings, scratches or anything. My husband is paranoid about this so he definately looked over every single inch. We called and got an even cheaper price then the website quoted. I was very pleased. If I need to do this again I will definately use them. Also when I called 6 months later doing tax stuff and I couldnt find my paperwork they happily emailed it to me and I had it not even 5 minutes later. Great company! (more)

Everything was as promised. After booking the job, we requested a pickup date change and it was handled easily and happily. Driver showed up right on time. Car was delivered early and DAS was happy to hold onto it for a day or two until it was convenient for us to receive it. They delivered it right to our door. On time again. DAS was exceptional in their customer service. Will use this company for my future services (more)

: Should take DEPENABLE off their name!!!!
I conducted EXTENSIVE research on a shipping company that I could rely on since I'd never shipped a vehicle before. I looked at hundreds of reviews and after speaking with a representative I decided to go with DEPENDABLE AUTO SHIPPERS. Boy oh boy was I wrong!
First off my husband is military and we were PCSing from Fort Hood (Texas) to Fort Myer (Virginia), and had to be in Virginia by a certain date. We both work so having my car in an unfamiliar state is critical b/c I am the one who takes our son to school and I've never ridden public transportation before and didn't know how it worked. Anyway, the day before my scheduled pick-up, 18 Dec 09, I STILL had not received a call from the wrecker. After I called I found out that Janis Pope had not put in the correct information, however, they quickly rebounded and a representative, I sure wish I could recall her name, not only made sure that all information was correct I also received that phone call within the hour from the guy coming to pick-up my truck. Had that representative not been so responsive and helpful I would have cancelled that day.
The estimated delivery date was 2 Jan 10, needless to say they did NOT meet that estimate. However, I waited until the 4th of January to call just to give them time to deliver. I called Janis, since that was the only number I had, to get an update on when my truck would be delivered b/c I received NO correspondence from them. Well Janis transferred my faster than a hot potato to the automated system. It was like after I paid in full and they picked the truck up (and I couldn't cancel) I really didn't matter to them. After being on hold for about 20 minutes waiting to speak with a real live human being I preceded to use the automated system. Well apparently my vehicle has just been sitting around b/c the machine gave me an estimate of 9 JANUARY 2010!!!!
Frustrated but still calm I continued to try to get a human and after another 4 or 5 minutes was connected to Mia, (more)
