I delt with a nice guy named Joe from the transporting company Alena Enterprises and he had been very courteous with information and whereabouts of my vehicle. We were also able to meet at the location of my choosing to pick up the car. In the future I had rather talk directly to the company thats delivering the car and not the broker I worked with. Vehicle had 100+ miles when I received from Port. When I questioned Alena Enterprises about this she lied and told me that she knew nothing about this. I asked her to call me back regarding the mileage and never heard from her. When I spoke with the holding area in San Diego they advised me that they received the car. with the additional mileage. They also advised me that they record the mileage once it is received prior to putting vehicle on the ship. If you use this company you will notice that their bill of lading form does not specify the number of miles on the vehicle. A word to the wise, take a pic of the odometer with a date that it was picked up, thereby alleviating any problems. I was advised that my car was driven 5 miles to the transport truck that was being driven to the port in San Diego. Obviously the truck was 95 miles further than what I was told. Alena enterprise called to schedule a pick up of our vehicle around lunch time one day but called untimely 6 AM the next morning to pick up. Then, they called on Thanksgiving day informing us that our vehicle would arrive at the origin. The difficulty was that we were told to expect our vehicle in 7-10 days, and no one was available for delivery. They agreed to drop the vehicle off without a contact but required that we wire the money. It was firm to set up the wire transfer because it was a holiday weekend and Alena enterprises provided numerous wrong account numbers.  (more)
